BEC sharpens market focus and tech transformation with new organization and CTO

BEC Financial Technologies strengthens its product focus, increases its development capacity, and expands its executive board with Jesper Andersen as new CTO.

As of January 1, a new product focused organization and a new CTO, Jesper Andersen, will strengthen the Danish IT company BEC Financial Technologies’ focus on faster IT deliveries to the customers and accelerate BEC’s transformation to new, open technologies.

“We are strengthening BEC’s commercial and product focus significantly. We are ensuring the market insights and technical competencies needed to set direction and define new, strong solutions in the BEC community of banks,” says Jesper Nielsen, CEO in BEC Financial Technologies.

BEC Financial Technologies is an IT supplier to, and owned by, several banks who together service around every fourth Danish bank customer.

BEC also announced two other news Tuesday: First, a new innovation and development hub, Scoutz, which brings together 114 IT specialists from three banks and BEC around joint IT development. Secondly, a major expansion of BEC’s close collaboration with JN Data, who will take over 71 employees and leaders from BEC to strengthen JN Data’s operations and focus BEC on product and IT development.

Clear focus on IT development

As of January 1, BEC will unite and strengthen its customer and products functions in a new division. With that, BEC is also focusing its development divisions much clearer on IT development.

“In 2024, we will be increasing our development and integration of IT solutions within for example business banking, more user-friendly credit processes and digital channels to the bank customers. Furthermore, we will of course see improvements in our advisory universe delivered by the new hub Scoutz,” says Jesper Nielsen.

New CTO to head technology transformation

Jesper Andersen is on January 1 joining BEC’s executive board as CTO (chief technology officer).

Jesper Andersen is returning to Danmark from a position as CIO in Credit Suisse, Switzerland. He has previously held the position as Group CIO in Nykredit, and before that held various technology leadership roles in both Nordea and Goldman Sachs.

“I am happy to be able to welcome such a strong profile as Jesper Andersen to BEC. He will be driving the modernization and simplification of our technological platform where we step by step are breaking free of older solutions, we have built ourselves, and transform our architecture to open flexible standard technologies from market leading partners. Furthermore, he will move forward on centralizing and optimizing safe, stable operations together with our partners such as JN Data,” says Jesper Nielsen.

Jesper Andersen will thus also become BEC’s chief responsible for driving the major expansion of BEC’s close partnership with JN Data announced yesterday.

BEC is the largest IT supplier to Danish banks, and the reorganization will not be changing that.
