About BEC

BEC is a Danish, full-service IT house dating back to 1965. We have over 45 years of experience in developing and operating IT systems for Danish financial institutions.

Our strategy

Our vision is: BEC – a joint IT house that makes a difference for banks and pension funds.

Joint development and purchase of IT solutions

The idea behind BEC is the joint development and purchase of IT solutions. Customers join BEC to gain business-focused systems and, in return, they contribute with market knowledge. Leading banks with expertise in specific fields cooperate closely with BEC to create market-leading systems. A result of this union is that we can offer some of the market’s best and most competitive IT systems – both to customers within and outside our member range.

Owners and members

The 50 financial institutions which own BEC are called members, but our customer list also include several hundred financial enterprises within the area of banking and pensions etc. We primarily address smaller and medium-sized financial institutions, but in reality our customers have as few as one employee to more than 3000 employees.

Turnover in 2011

Turnover in 2011 was DKK 1,255 mill.
For additional numbers see BEC’s Annual Report 2011 (in Danish)
